When you see Hazard Lights, Decrease your Speed. It’s The Law

Throughout the year, motorists make their daily commutes and carpools to work, school, and for entertainment. But what if they knew that after reading this, they would be familiar with a law that few Americans understand? Slow down, and move over. It’s a simple rule that is quite catchy in it's ability to stay in our memory after hearing it for the first time.

Move Over laws are an easy demand for drivers to decrease their speed at the sight of a road accident, serving as a fundamental rule for traffic regulation during hectic rush hours, particularly when crashes happen. But the law does not have a set schedule or time differential like speed limit changes near school zones. It must be strictly followed at all times. Police can and do issue traffic infractions for motorist’s failure to comply with Move Over laws.

We know you probably have other questions about things that are linked to automobiles. That is our specialty here at Spieler’s. We strive to bring valuable resources and traffic safety issues to the spotlight. You are always welcome to contact us with your questions.
